This painting was inspired by a fleeting glimpse of an image in a nature documentary on Svarlbard.

I was immediately captivated by the intense blue of the glacier flowing towards the purple sea, how the muted purple-greys of the land echoed those hues which in turn were repeated in the glowing sunset sky.
