Home ranges of the Kalahari lion (Panthera leo) are so large, on average 1462 +/-388km squared, it is entirely possible that this young (around 3 years old) male lion has never seen a vehicle before.  Hence the wary expression of consternation.  The colours of the lions coat echo that of their surroundings i.e. Raw Sienna yellow, Burnt Sienna orange, Prussion Blue sky reflection and dusky purple-brown shadows from mixes of these colours and Alizarin Crimson.
